Failte,
My time here is drawing to a close. Christmas is inching closer and with Christmas comes going home. I just finished my last essay. I have one final on the 14th. Other than that, I'm freed from school until the Spring. I have some plans to travel around Scotland with friends, to Edinburgh and Glasgow and St. Andrews and to see the Kelpies. It will be nice to do some mini day trips before leaving for home. Because once I get home, It is going to be crazy. My dad got married a week before I left in September. So I'll be going home to him and Jess and a new house to call home. The church we go to moved into the middle of Rochester from the countryside, so that will be weird to experience. And Christmas is the morning after I arrive home. And then I'm off to SU three weeks later. So much change to experience in such little time. It will be amazing and crazy and exhausting.
Everyone keeps telling me that they can't wait to hear about my trip and see pictures...I have hundreds of pictures and thousands of words to say and not enough time to do it all. It's strange, knowing that in a few weeks, I'll be back at home with all of my stuffed animals and my family and my books and my friends. But I'll also be leaving behind the friends I made here, and the home I have come to know. I'm not sure if I will cry. I might just have super philosophical moments of “Home is where the heart is, and my heart is in too many places at once.” I worry that it will be difficult to adjust. But when I really think about it, I think I'll be just fine.
I came here. I boarded a plane alone, flew halfway across the world, lived in a different country for four months, made amazing friends and broke a bad habit of mine. I have realized myself in little, significant ways that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I don't want to get sappy about this, because I have two more weeks of posts that will be sappy and wistful about not wanting to leave and also wanting nothing more than to be home.
Beannachd leibh!
P.S- Head over to my album, I've adding more pictures today!
