"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only a page." -St. Augustine My name is Emily Teitsworth. I am a junior at Susquehanna University. I
have a double major in Creative Writing and Publishing and Editing, as well as a minor in PR. I am spending my Fall 2015 semester studying abroad
in Stirling, Scotland.
My college requires every student to study abroad through the GO Program, where you can choose to GO long (semester) or GO short (2-6 weeks). I decided to do a GO Long program because I believe studying in a different country for a few months will be an experience that will help me grow both professionally and personally. I am very excited for the opportunity to live and study in a place I have never been, and to be immersed in a culture other than my own. I have always wanted to experience the culture of Scotland, with the tweed, bagpipes, haggus, Loch Ness Monster, etc. I'm very interested in being hands on and learning more about their history because it is one fraught with violence and the human need for independence. While in Scotland, I plan to travel to surrounding cities like Edinburgh, London and Amsterdam. While traveling I will be writing poetry and fiction, as well as taking a ton of pictures. I will keep this blog updated throughout my adventures, so be sure to check back often! |

To the left, you will find a link to my Gofundme campaign. I am asking for money to
help me be able to travel and write while in Scotland. I will be
creating a miniature chapbook (small printed and hand bound book of
writing) with the writing I will generate over the time I am abroad.
This is both a project of my own and part of a scholarship I applied
for. Anyone that sends me 40 dollars or more will receive a copy of
this chapbook! There are other smaller gifts you can receive if you
donate, so please check out my page if you are interested in helping.
